Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 6, 2026

This "Privacy Policy" describes the privacy practices of ShopDot, Inc. and our subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "ShopDot", "we", "us", or "our") in connection with the www.shopdotapp.com website, any storefront or online platform that we operate, and any other website or online platform that posts or links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Service"). This includes storefronts presented under a Selling Partner's own brand or on a Selling Partner's own domain, which ShopDot operates and for which ShopDot is the seller and merchant of record, and the rights and choices available to individuals with respect to their information. ShopDot may provide additional or supplemental privacy policies to individuals for specific products or services that we offer at the time we collect personal information. These supplemental privacy policies will govern how we may process the information in the context of the specific product or service.

Who This Privacy Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to everyone whose personal information we handle — customers who buy products through the Service, and the people who work with us as selling partners, suppliers, network operators, and their authorized users.

Most of what follows applies to everyone. Where something applies to only one group, we say so, and the sections on what we collect, who we share it with, and how long we keep it are set out that way.

Where you deal with us on behalf of a business, this Privacy Policy covers your own contact and account information. It is a description of our practices, not a contract, and it does not change the agreement between ShopDot and that business.

Your State Privacy Rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have the rights set out below. These rights apply whether you deal with us as a customer or on behalf of a business. This includes California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and states including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota and Maryland. Where your state's law gives you a right not listed here, that right applies too.

  • Right to Know and Access. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources we collected it from, our business or commercial purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties we disclose it to, and a copy of the information in a portable format.
  • Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions permitted by law.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not use it for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. You may direct us to limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Service. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond those permitted without your consent.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Personal Information of Minors. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age, and we do not process the personal information of a consumer we know to be under 16 for targeted advertising.

How to submit a request. Email us at info@shopdotapp.com, or write to ShopDot, Inc., 7605 Pontrelli Place, STE A, Missoula, Montana 59808. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within 45 days, and we may extend that period once by a further 45 days where permitted, in which case we will tell you before the first period ends.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you, and we may ask you to verify your own identity directly with us.

If we deny your request. You may appeal by replying to our response or by emailing info@shopdotapp.com with the word "Appeal" in the subject line. We will review the appeal and respond in writing within 45 days, stating the reasons for our decision. If we deny the appeal, we will tell you how to submit a complaint to your state Attorney General.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations. Our general retention periods are as follows:

  • Account and profile information: Retained for the duration of your account and for two (2) years following account deletion or deactivation, except where a longer period below applies.
  • Transaction and purchase records: Retained for seven (7) years to comply with applicable tax and accounting requirements.
  • Payout, invoice, and tax records: Retained for seven (7) years to comply with applicable tax and accounting requirements, including after an account is closed. This covers the payment account you designate to receive payments from us, the taxpayer identification information you provide, and the record of amounts we have paid you.
  • Marketing preferences and communications: Retained for two (2) years following your last interaction with us. A record of an opt-out is retained for as long as needed to honor it.
  • Technical and log data: Retained for up to ninety (90) days.

When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or de-identify it.

If you work with us as a selling partner, supplier, network operator, or an authorized user of one, we also collect:

  • Payout and tax information, such as the bank or payment account you designate to receive payments from us, and the taxpayer identification information you provide on an IRS Form W-9 or an equivalent form.
  • Business and catalog information, such as your storefront or catalog content, product information, the prices and fulfillment settings you set, and your order, performance, and payout history on the Service.

Information We Obtain from Social Media Platforms

We may maintain pages for our Company on social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Google, YouTube, Instagram, and other third party platforms. When you visit or interact with our pages on those platforms, the platform provider's privacy policy will apply to your interactions and their collection, use and processing of your personal information. You or the platforms may provide us with information through the platform, and we will treat such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Obtain from Other Third Parties

We may receive personal information about you from third-party sources. For example, a business partner may share your contact information with us if you have expressed interest in learning specifically about our products or services, or the types of products or services we offer. We may obtain your personal information from other third parties, such as marketing partners, publicly-available sources and data providers.

Cookies and Other Information Collected by Automated Means

We and our service providers may automatically log information about you, your computer or mobile device, and activity occurring on or through the Service, including but not limited to your computer or mobile device operating system type and version number, manufacturer and model, device identifier, browser type, screen resolution, IP address, the website you visited before browsing to our website, general location information such as city, state or geographic area; information about your use of and actions on the Service, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times, and length of access; and other personal information. Our service providers may collect this type of information on our behalf. We do not permit business partners or other third parties to collect it across third-party websites or applications through the Service.

On our webpages, this information is collected using cookies, browser web storage (also known as locally stored objects, or "LSOs"), web beacons, and similar technologies, and our emails may also contain web beacons.

A "cookie" is a text file that websites send to a visitor's computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor's browser or to store information or settings in the browser. Browser web storage, or LSOs, are used for similar purposes as cookies. Browser web storage enables the storage of a larger amount of data than cookies. A "web beacon," also known as a pixel tag or clear GIF, is typically used to demonstrate that a webpage was accessed or that certain content was viewed, typically to measure the success of our marketing campaigns or engagement with our emails and to compile statistics about usage of our websites.

Web browsers may offer users of our websites or mobile apps the ability to disable receiving certain types of cookies; however, if cookies are disabled, some features or functionality of our websites may not function correctly.

Referrals

Users of the Service may have the opportunity to refer friends or other contacts to us. If you are an existing user, you may only submit a referral if you have permission to provide the referral's contact information to us so that we may contact them.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection:

To Operate the Service

We use your personal information to:

  • provide, operate and improve the Service;
  • provide information about our products and services;
  • establish and maintain your user profile on the Service;
  • communicate with you about the Service, including by sending you announcements, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
  • communicate with you about events or contests in which you participate;
  • understand your needs and interests, and personalize your experience with the Service and our communications;
  • provide support and maintenance for the Service; and
  • respond to your requests, questions and feedback.

If you work with us as a selling partner, supplier, network operator, or an authorized user of one, we also use your personal information to set up and administer your account and your storefront or catalog, to transmit and fulfill orders, to calculate and make payments to you, to meet our tax and information-reporting obligations, to verify your identity and eligibility, and to monitor compliance with the agreement between us.

For Research and Development

We analyze use of the Service to analyze and improve the Service and to develop new products and services, including by studying user demographics and use of the Service.

To Send You Marketing and Promotional Communications

We may send you ShopDot-related marketing communications as permitted by law. You will have the ability to opt out of our marketing and promotional communications as described in the Opt Out of Marketing Communications bullet under Your Choices below.

To Comply with Law

We use your personal information as we believe necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities.

For Compliance, Fraud Prevention, and Safety

We may use your personal information and disclose it to law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties as we believe necessary or appropriate to: (a) protect our, your or others' rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims); (b) enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Service; and (c) protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity.

In some cases we may specifically ask for your consent to collect, use or share your personal information, such as when required by law.

To Create Anonymous, Aggregated or De-Identified Data

We may create anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data from your personal information and other individuals whose personal information we collect. We make personal information into anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We may use this anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data and share it with third parties for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze and improve the Service and promote our business.

How We Share Your Personal Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except in the following circumstances or as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you buy from us

  • The brand that ships your order. ShopDot is the seller and merchant of record for every purchase you make through the Service, and we collect payment in our own name. To get your order to you, we share what the brand needs to ship it — your name, phone number, shipping address, and the contents of your order. Where the brand is best placed to answer a question you have raised with us, we may pass that request to them and share the contact details they need to reply to you about it; they may then contact you about that request and nothing else. The brand may use what we share only to fulfill and support your order. It may not market to you and it may not add you to any list, with or without your consent, it may not put promotional material in your package, and it may not give you a shipping or delivery date — that comes from us.
  • Selling Partners. Where you purchase through a Selling Partner's storefront, we share your name, contact information, shipping address, and order information with that Selling Partner so they can service your order — order status, shipping and delivery, questions about what you bought, and passing on any recall or safety notice. They may send you marketing only if you have given consent at checkout, and only for as long as that consent stands.
  • Network operators. Where the storefront you bought from runs inside a network that a third party operates under agreement with ShopDot, we share your name, contact information, shipping address and order information with that operator so it can run the network and support your order. The operator handles that information on our behalf and on our instructions. It may not use it for its own purposes, sell or share it, build any list or audience from it, or combine it with information it holds about you from anywhere else. It may send you marketing only if you have given consent at checkout, and only for as long as that consent stands.
  • Our payment processor. When you pay, your payment details go to the payment processor ShopDot designates, which authorizes and settles the charge on ShopDot’s behalf and handles that information under its own privacy notice. ShopDot appears as the merchant on your payment method.

If you work with us

  • Network operators. Where you are a selling partner or supplier participating in a network that a third party operates under agreement with ShopDot, we share the information that operator needs to run the network — your business contact and account information, your catalog or storefront information, and your order and payout records. The operator is bound by written restrictions on the use of that information no less protective than those in this Privacy Policy.
  • Payment processors and tax authorities. Where we pay you, we share what our payment processor needs to make the payment. We report amounts paid to you, and the taxpayer identification information you have provided, to tax authorities as and where required by law.

In every case

  • Affiliates. We may share your personal information with our corporate parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.
  • Service providers. We may share your personal information with third party companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Service (such as customer support, hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, marketing, and database management services). These third parties may use your personal information only as directed or authorized by us and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, and are prohibited from using or disclosing your information for any other purpose.
  • Third-party platforms and social media networks. If you have enabled features or functionality that connect the Service to a third-party platform or social media network (such as by logging in to the Service using your account with the third-party, providing your API key or similar access token for the Service to a third-party, or otherwise linking your account with the Service to a third-party's services), we may disclose the personal information that you authorized us to share. Separately, where a Selling Partner — or the operator of a network in which a Selling Partner's storefront runs — connects the Service to a third-party platform in order to operate that storefront, we may disclose the information needed for that integration to function. Those recipients may use that information only to operate the integration and support your order, and may not use it for their own marketing or their own purposes. We do not control a third party's use of your personal information.
  • Professional advisors. We may disclose your personal information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.
  • For compliance, fraud prevention and safety. We may share your personal information for the compliance, fraud prevention and safety purposes described above.
  • Business transfers. We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of our business or assets, including your personal information, in connection with a business transaction (or potential business transaction) such as a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy or dissolution.

Your Choices

In this section, we describe the rights and choices available to all users.

  • Access or Update Your Information. If you have registered for an account with us, you may review and update certain personal information in your account profile by logging into the account.
  • Opt Out of Marketing Communications. You may opt out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us at info@shopdotapp.com. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.
  • Cookies & Browser Web Storage. We use cookies and similar technologies on the Service for the purposes described above, and we allow our service providers to use them on our behalf for those purposes. We do not allow third parties to use cookies or similar technologies on the Service to track your browsing activity across other websites for advertising purposes. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. Please note that if you set your browser to disable cookies, the Sites may not work properly. Similarly, your browser settings may allow you to clear your browser web storage.
  • Do Not Track. Some Internet browsers may be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services that you visit. We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control has no personal information of yours to act on at ShopDot.
  • Choosing Not to Share Your Personal Information. Where we are required by law to collect your personal information, or where we need your personal information in order to provide the Service to you, if you do not provide this information when requested (or you later ask to delete it), we may not be able to provide you with our services. We will tell you what information you must provide to receive the Service by designating it as required at the time of collection or through other appropriate means.

Other Sites, Mobile Applications and Services

The Service may contain links to other websites, mobile applications, and other online services operated by third parties. These links are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. In addition, our content may be included on web pages or in mobile applications or online services that are not associated with us. We do not control third party websites, mobile applications or online services, and we are not responsible for their actions. Other websites, mobile applications and services follow different rules regarding the collection, use and sharing of your personal information. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of the other websites, mobile applications and online services you use.

Security Practices

The security of your personal information is important to us. We employ a number of organizational, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

International Data Transfers

We are headquartered in the United States and have service providers in other countries, and your personal information may be transferred to the United States or other locations outside of your state, province, or country where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.

Children

As a general rule, children are not allowed to use the Service, and we do not collect personal information from them. We define "children" as anyone under 13 years old. Separately, and as set out under Your State Privacy Rights, we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16, or process it for targeted advertising. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a child without the consent of the child's parent or guardian, we will delete it. We encourage parents with concerns to contact us at info@shopdotapp.com.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the Service. We may, and if required by law will, also provide notification of changes in another way that we believe is reasonably likely to reach you, such as via e-mail (if you have an account where we have your contact information) or another manner through the Service.

The version of this Privacy Policy in effect when you place an order governs the information we collected for that order. If a change expands how we share your personal information or reduces a right described here, it takes effect thirty (30) days after we post it. Any other change takes effect when we publish it. Where a change is required by law or by a regulator, it takes effect on the date required. Prior versions remain available at the dated archive addresses linked from this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect indicates your acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
